all things go, all things go, I drove to..
I never wrote about Chicago, but it was wonderful. I couch surfed with some great people all thanks to my dad’s best friends nephew. I immersed myself in the overwhelmingly large and hilarious improvcomedy scene there, going to shows and free classes everyday at second city and other theatre’s throughout the city. The most beautiful part though was the people I met merely sitting on park benches. One day I was sitting and writing passing the time between class and something else I had planned in the city (since I was staying a decent distance out of the loop). Normally I thrive in the surrounded loneliness you feel in the city, but this day I was feeling a bit lost both literally and figuratively. A kind old man walking by feeding the birds sat down and began talking with me. It ended up he was an assistant professor at the university of Chicago and additionally worked in voice over and acting. He was so very sweet and helpful and nice to talk to and in a strange way he reminded me of my grandfather. That meeting did not seem chance, it may have made me believe in the cliche that people come into your life when and where they do for a reason.
Its been a long summer thus far and yet I still have a few more weeks to go.
but I’m in a new city. for good for a bit.
